From the Liberty Hotel, Nafplio unfolds in a completely different light

A cozy stay in the heart of Nafplio

You think you know Nafplio. Emphasis on think. Because this small yet wondrous city literally possesses a thousand different faces. No matter how many times you’ve strolled through its Old Town, how many times you’ve gazed at the view from Palamidi Fortress, or shared a romantic moment against the backdrop of the sunset behind Bourtzi Castle, there will always be something that escapes you—something to discover, something to surprise you. A point of view you had never considered before. This is exactly the kind of perspective offered by Liberty of Nafplio.

Situated where the Old Town almost touches the new city, boasting breathtaking views from its rooms and its roof garden, this 4-star hotel—which opened its doors in July 2021—is far from being just “another boutique hotel in Nafplio.”

You will sense it from the very first glance. A feeling of openness, perspective, and an airy, effortless extroversion is present everywhere. It flows from the bright lobby to the spectacular roof garden, and extends down to the finest design details—such as the room doors or the hallways, elements you rarely notice (let alone remember) in other hotels.

Tailored Comfort for Every Traveler

The 31 rooms and suites of Liberty of Nafplio are divided into different categories and sizes to accommodate everything from solo getaways and romantic weekends to family city breaks and groups of up to four people.

Standard, Superior, Deluxe rooms, Junior Suites, and accessible rooms (for people with disabilities) cater to every possible travel scenario, offering single, double, triple, or quadruple use. Put simply, whether you are visiting for a lightning-fast weekend or for a few days of total detachment, there is a room perfectly tailored to shelter your plans.

The decor moves along modern, minimalist lines, defined by a serene aesthetic that doesn't try to steal the spotlight from the Nafplio unfolding outside your window—it simply frames it exactly as it deserves.

A Room with an Immersive View

From the Deluxe rooms and Junior Suites, the view of Palamidi Fortress, rising imposing right in front of the balconies, is nothing short of thrilling. The distance is truly so short that, especially at night, it creates the magical illusion that you can simply reach out your hand and touch the illuminated castle.

This is the image you will fall asleep to (on dreamy Coco-Mat mattresses), and it will also be the very first thing you see upon waking up. Indeed, the layout of the suites is designed so that you can gaze at one of Greece's most beautiful castles while lying comfortably in bed. A truly priceless experience.

The Grand Visual Feast at Liberty View

Even more impressive is the panorama from Liberty View,  the hotel's roof garden, which provides the complete picture to add the final, missing piece to your Nafplio puzzle. Here is Palamidi; there is Acronafplia cradling the Old Town; on the other side, the new city; and in the background, the sea shimmering all the way to the horizon, interrupted only by the iconic Bourtzi.

Against this spectacular backdrop, you will begin your day by tasting one of the best breakfasts of your life—and that is by no means an exaggeration. Sweet and savory delicacies await you at a lavish buffet that goes far beyond the classics. Along with the expected artisanal handmade jams, tahini, and peanut butter, you will find original brioche mini-sandwiches, Arabic pita rolls stuffed with vegetables and cold cuts, homemade pies, freshly baked bougatsa, and eggs prepared in every conceivable way (do not miss the traditional strapatsada scrambled eggs—you will thank us later).

Since we, the late sleepers, also have a soul, breakfast is served until 10:30 AM. After that, Liberty View continues at full speed for lunch and dinner, featuring a highly interesting menu that marries Greek cuisine with Mediterranean influences, alongside fantastic desserts for those with a sweet tooth. And when the lights of Palamidi turn on and the music turns up, it’s time for original signature cocktails like the Tiramisu—crafted with vodka, Bailey’s, Amaretto, espresso liqueur, and chocolate syrup.

The Details that Define Quality

On the purely practical side—which is ultimately what makes all the difference when returning exhausted from all-day strolls through the alleys of Nafplio: all rooms feature balconies with views of either the neighborhood or Palamidi, cloud-like Coco-Mat mattresses ensuring a truly rejuvenating sleep, bathrooms with hydromassage showers, a mini-bar/fridge, a safety deposit box, a hairdryer, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a telephone, USB ports, and a 32-inch Smart TV with internet access.

You will also find coffee and tea-making facilities, room service, and a 24-hour reception. Ironing boards, irons, trouser presses, and baby cots are available upon request, because a great hotel shines in those small, almost invisible touches that make your life easier. Exactly like the ability to park right in front of the hotel—a rare luxury by Nafplio standards—and the impeccably professional, yet effortlessly warm and friendly staff.
