Beach Gialova

Gialova, with its colorful sandy beach, crystal-clear waters and unparalleled natural beauty, is an idyllic destination for beach lovers in Messinia. It is located within a breath's distance from Pylos and is considered one of the most stunning beaches in the region.

Gialova beach boasts a magnificent natural beauty, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and its pure and untouched countryside harmonizes perfectly with the traditional aesthetics of the area.

Visitors can stroll along the sandy shore, explore the surrounding trails, and discover the wild beauty of the region. The beach of Yalova extends for several kilometers, and at its end, there is a trail that leads to the famous Voidokilia Bay.

The Gialova Lagoon is basically a lake situated between the mainland and the sea. It is undoubtedly one of the most important wetland habitats in Europe and has been included in the Natura 2000 network.

The area provides refuge for hundreds of bird species, attracting countless observers, as the lagoon serves as the southernmost migratory station for Balkan birds traveling to and from Africa.

Beaches of Messinia

With its eye-catching coastline, the prefecture of Messinia offers a variety of things to explore to travelers who crave beach hopping, which means going from one beach to another.

The beaches in the city centre that are worth mentioning are few, but the one in Kalamata at the foot of Taygetus is one of them.

A dip in the blue flag awarded waters is a good first acquaintance with the Messinian Gulf
