Argolida is a prefecture of Eastern Peloponnese, bordering to the south of the Argolic Gulf and to the east of the Saronic Gulf. It borders at the north the prefecture Korinthia and at the west and the south the prefecture Arkadia. The capital of the prefecture is the city of Nafplio, the first capital of Greece. Argolida has some of the most important historical towns. In Nafplio you can visit the castle Palamidi and discover the fortress Bourtzi (or Its Kale) and lots more. You can walk in Argos, the most ancient city of Europe, which is continuously inhabited for the last 5000 years. In Epidavros you can visit the ancient theater with perfect acoustics. In Mycenae you can see the area of the Atreidon and in Elliniko the oldest pyramid of the country.
